In spite of the fact that I felt like Bennett’s carseat was fairly secure the other day, I began to doubt again yesterday morning. Per one reader’s suggestion, I opted to swing by the local fire station and see if they assist in executing these safety measures. Much to my surprise, they do not! (Any guesses as to why?)
So back into the saddle I went. And by “saddle,” I mean “carseat.”
Being that I had no witnesses to my last attempt at tightening this impossible strap, I let my father-in-law do the honors yesterday evening.
While I am happier for now, the firemen suggested that I try Babies-R-Us for a second opinion if I think it could be tighter. Given the fact that BRU recently sent a $10-off-$10-or-more-purchase coupon in the mail, I have a sneaking suspicion that this double check will be working itself onto my agenda very shortly.
i couldnt find anywhere that checked if the car seats were in right because its a liability.. if u get into an accident and the baby gets hurt you could potentially sue the fire department for approving a carseat that wasnt “secure” . i would call and ask babies r us though. i know herndon police department does it but only for fairfax county residents. 🙁
Did you know that it’s Child Passenger Safety Week: Sept 15 – 21, 2013 ??
Our local Police Department has been advertising this all week … they say that they offer free child safety seat inspections & installations.
Maybe your local police department would do this as well?
I hope so.
We asked the Loudoun Fire Dept if they check car seats and they told us the police now do that.
I’ll look into that.
Cute you!
Suzy you are beautiful! I just love your fun spirit!
That’s a great picture.
Ha! Now that’s something you don’t see everyday. Hey, whatever it takes to keep Squish safe. 🙂
