This evening Brian and I joined some friends at a Baby Gender Reveal Party.
You might as well enjoy the account of this one as there’s NO way I’m going to have the willpower to wait long enough to orchestrate a Pinterest-worthy celebration.
My friend, Jess, got an ultrasound almost two weeks ago. She had the gender results sealed in an envelope which she gave to her sister, who then gave it to the baker.
While we all enjoyed the festivities:
And the decorations:
And placing our bets as to whether it was a boy or girl:
What we were really all waiting for was the cake!
In a manner similar to a wedding cake cutting ceremony, the mother and father shared in the slicing and revealed a pink layer of icing in the center of the cake!
A girl!
For the record, Brian was right and I was wrong. I’m always wrong about these things.
Don’t think I could wait two weeks either …. maybe if someone could plan ahead of time, and have the cake made up the same day?
Wow! Impressive party! I could never wait 2 more weeks either, LOL. But it’s fun to read about someone else doing it!
Fantastic….but when are we finding out about you?!?!?!?
We are the few and far between waiters. I love a good surprise and well these are the best kind!! So are you going to find out? If so can’t wait to read all about it! rub that little tummy for me! 🙂
That is a first for me. I had no idea that people had “gender reveal” parties!
Hmmm, that’s pretty neat-o.
