Manny got bit by the bug… the Bang Fever bug.
I cured her.
If it wasn’t for my sister, Mandy (A.K.A. “Manny”), and our friend, Rach, I never would have been able to pull off Brian’s surprise on Sunday. Fortunately, they spent the night and I was able to give them a proper thank you on Monday. And by proper thank you, I mean a cut and color.
Yes, yes, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It’s inadvisable to succumb to a makeover if you don’t know how to laugh at yourself. (Above, Manny acting like a martian. I believe her exact words were, “Boop boop boop boop…”)
Rach’s makeover was quite subtle. The results were more like a make-else than a make-over. Instead of overhauling her hair, I just brightened everything minimally enough to keep it from looking like poo by the time she’s due for a touch-up. Wanting her style to look especially beach-y, I rigged up some cotton strips to keep the high-lift color on her tips from touching too close to the roots.
Before I colored Manny’s hair red, I also tipped her ends in bleach so that the red would show up brighter, edgier and with more movement throughout the haircut. Ta da!
