Look what I found!
This can only mean one thing: a ‘before and after’ transformation took place.
My little sis, Olivia, has more hair than any woman I know. Do you remember what a hassle it was for you to take care of your hair at the age of twelve? Yeah? Well, imagine that your hair was also wrapped and permed on coffee straws + thorny rose bushes + scotch tape + barbed wire + tangled Christmas lights + maple syrup and you might get an idea of her suffering.
In spite of the fact that her hair is challenging, the girl has dreams. She dreams to have hair like me, her sister, “Sunanna.” She dreams of hair blowing in the wind. She dreams of her mane cascading down her back, slinky and silky.
I just dream of getting a comb through it.
No matter how many times I sang, “I whip my hair back and forth.,.” Olivia would not let me convince her to shave the sides of her head like Willow Smith. After about two hours of dinner, discussion, consultation and googling image after image, we finally compromised.
Our inspiration:
Imagining what the above cut might look like without the bun, but instead shaving the back of the head, we developed our plan.
Before from the front:
Some highlights to reward her for taking a huge plunge:
Would you ever be brave enough to try this?
One of the earlier steps in the Brazilian Blowout required me to blow the curl smooth. Look at the difference in length when it goes from curly to straight!
A later step is to flat iron the blown out hair. Now we can see some highlights!
Then we did a snip here and a snip there.
Isn’t she gorgeous?!
Look how edgy that is!
I’ll say that’s a significant before and after! What do you think? (Psst… Olivia might read this. So seriously, what do you think?)
Not only is she BRAVE…She is cooler than Willow Smith! Whip it back & forth! Nice job, Suzy! : p
