Just in case you were curious about a few other burfday shenanigans, I’ve got some pics.
When I walked into the salon on Thursday, look how nicely my station was decorated!
Wait… what’s the red box?
CHOCOLATE-COVERED ORANGE SLICES! Edible Arrangement’s best kept secret. Mmmmm…
And wait… what about that bouquet?
Brian’s family sent me the prettiest flowers! I do love lilies (the name “Suzanna” means “lily”, fyi). And it just so happened that it coordinated beautifully with the rest of my station decor! (Thanks, Donna! I love them!)
Last night I got together with my Girls’ Night/Bible Study friends. Two of us had just celebrated a birthday, so we all took care to bring extra special goodies.
There were a total of five of us, but look at this spread!
Yes, that’s Sherri reaching for my World Peace Salad. And, believe it or not, not all of the food had reached the table yet. (I did eat some leftovers for a midnight snack last night.)
Another friend, Kristie, diligently labored over a Martha Stewart recipe to bring the most decadent lemon chiffon cake for our celebration. Here’s how that turned out:
Alas, Martha Stewart seems to have evil schemes to cause the mental and emotional stability of her followers to slowly unravel as Martha never quite gives you all of the information you’ll need to succeed. Kristie resorted to Plan B, but her dog got ahold of the cake in the meantime. In spite of its imperfect appearance, it was actually delicious!
However, since Kristie thought I had to have lemon cake, she went to Harris Teeter and bought me a slice (which I never got to taste because Brian ate the whole thing)!
Cake aside, do you see how absolutely adorable this mini spork is?! It’s got its own little indented home to fix it into the cake package! I was really quite mesmerized.
Have a beautiful weekend!
I can’t not believe Brian ate your lemon cake! That was specifically for you! Brian is going to hear it from me! š
Serves you right! You should have known I’d be happy with anything and not have gone out of your way for me like that! When I went to find it at midnight, it was gone. But this morning, he did say it was delicious!
Wow!
whooooops
LOL, at the missing cake. Stuff like that happens around our house all the time. Now the real question here is, does Brian drink out of the containers, or does he pour it into a glass/cup???
glass.
though Suzy has been known to drink out of containers.
Hahahah, Brian…
Oh how I love that you noticed that adorable little spork! When we first moved here, my trip to Harris Teeter was one of the happiest days I had because of these little sporks that come with the desserts! š
So glad you had a lovely burfday!
Anything mini somehow is incredibly adorable! So glad you were loved on so good. š
Haha I noticed the fork also -_-
A belated Happy Birthday! The food looks wonderful and your station beautiful. Terrific friends for a terrific person. Your greatest gift won’t be here until October! But, worth waiting for indeed.
Love,
m
Wow, that’s a lot of food. But given the last post, I guess that you could put a dent into it. š
