Creative sweetness.

Every now and then, Square Piece needs a sweet treat.  I don’t know what your “every now and then” looks like, but mine looks to be several times a day.  This sweet tooth requires some creativity on my part if I want to keep my teeth from rotting out of my head for the next few decades.

So a little something that I like to whip up in a minute is this:

Yogurt, orange zest, agave and cocoa granola. MMMM!

What you see here is a bowl of plain yogurt with a drizzle of agave (to balance and sweeten, taking away the *pucker* factor), some orange zest and a couple of palmfuls of this granola:

Love Grown granola

Stir it all together and… YUM.

A while back I mentioned the deliciousness of Edible Arrangements’ chocolate covered orange slices.  Until I first tasted one, I don’t think that I truly understood what a match made in heaven both chocolate and orange are together.  But I imagine that this yogurt/zest concept would be delicious with some lemon zest, blueberries/raspberries and honey (instead of agave).

What would you combo with orange or lemon zest in a lightly sweetened yogurt?

I think some vanilla bean pasts, orange zest, raspberries and pecans or almonds and granola. ( Now I’m hungry)

I’d go for golden raisins and slivered almonds

In Greece, dessert is the best yoghurt ever liberally drizzled with lukewarm honey. I could eat a quart.
Can you tell I’ve been thinking about Square Piece for many hours.

OoOoOo, I want to make something with orange and chocolate now. Lavender and Lemon is always pleasant together. 🙂
