Dear Bennett,
You’re about six and a half months old now. As of two days ago, you’ve really been enjoying folding your body into a teepee-like position, resting the top of your head on the floor and gazing through your legs at the upside down world.
When nursing, your favorite activities are slapping my chest, trying to put your hand in my mouth and simultaneously attempting to crawl.
And – my! – you are so so so close to crawling! It’s not your legs that are slowing you down. Nope, it’s those pesky arms! Once you figure out how to steady yourself with just one arm at a time, boy, we won’t be able to slow you down!
Perhaps you’ve forgotten (I hope so), but you got a vaccine the other day. For the record, right now you take shots like a champ! That quality was most definitely NOT passed down from me. Praise the Lord for distracting, crinkly paper and enthusiastic arm jiggling!
Bath time is interesting. No matter how many colorful toys float by you in the water, all you want is the drain. The way you twist and contort your body, trying to reach that enticing, round, shiny thing below… Goodness! It’s a good thing that I don’t take my eyes off of you, that’s all I’ve got to say!
This week, Daddy has begun letting you “drive” home from day care in your fun, little, blue push-along car that your Great Memaw got you for Christmas. It’s a joy to watch you grow into the items that have been waiting for your attention! You’ve been greatly blessed!
I love you so much. You’ve presently been asleep for one hour and I miss you already.
Holy and mushy XOXO’s,
Mommy**
Love this.
Nice to know all of the new products emerging in our high – tech world, still can’t compete with the drain in the tub. Babies can be so low cost/low maintenance if we let them.
Glad he can drive his blue cadlliac .Before you know it move over Mommy & Daddy here I come.
Mushy xoxo’s! He sounds amazing. I can’t wait to spend some time with him this weekend. What a wonder. What a joy he brings to you. I love it!
