“…for one of the least of these…”

Do you see anything amazingly wonderful in this picture?

Yes, Esther is wonderful.

Yes, sometimes I can be wonderful, too.

Yes, the beautiful lighting spots that happened when Brian took this picture are also wonderful.

And naturally, so is my pink lip gloss.

But do ya see that snuggly throw?

Yeah.

I knit that the other day… in one day.

At the risk of feeling like I’ve Jesus’d the hell out of you on Square Piece this last week, I’ve been looking forward to sharing this 6-Hour Afghan, one of a few projects that I wanted to finish as my birthday gift to Jesus.  (You didn’t think I forgot, did you?)  That blanket will join me on every journey that I take in my little, jellybean car until I spot just the right someone who looks like they’re out in the cold.  I can’t wait to give this bad boy away!

Happy birthday, Jesus!

(1/18/12 – Update on the afghan.)

35 “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

Matthew 25:35-40

but that’s our mission–to Jesus the hell out of everyone 🙂

    • He he he… I know. I laughed to myself that it could be taken positively or negatively, but either way it was still a good thing. And I thought about changing my phrasing for the sake of Momma and others, but then I thought, Why pretend? God knows my heart. No one benefits from me acting holier than I really am.

Yesterday in church, a lady went to the front and shared her testimony along with a song that she wrote. She shared the very same verses! That’s twice now in 2 days. Good stuff.

I knit that same afghan for a friend’s wedding! I was amazed at how quickly it knit up. What a great way to use it. Can’t wait to hear who gets it!

Pretty sure you don’t know this, but when your sister Heather was in ICU, right before she died, we saw a guy on the streets near the hospital and I gave him my scarf. It was a random, spur of the moment thing … I hope it blessed him as much as it did me.
