Glass Door, Week One.

Phew. We made it.

Last week, right around this time, my sister (Manny), our friend (Rach), my husband and I were nearly pulling an all-nighter, flipping this home into a temporary salon. The next day, Corinne and Sly Louise showed up and added to our ranks.

I simply could not have done this without them. With Bennett in full toddler mode, it just would have been impossible. From organizing the color inventory to scrubbing the bathroom grout, from practicing kitchen sink shampoos to wiping Esther’s nose prints off the doors, from leveling mirrors to testing the limits of our electricity, we got it done.

My dining room is no more. Our table is in storage and has been replaced with two stylist chairs. My business license was obtained on Thursday, so we’re a few hurdles down with a few more to go!

The feedback that Corinne and I were so pleased to receive this week was the surprise that we had only just begun on Tuesday.  Given the relaxed atmosphere and the ease with which we worked, it seemed to many as though we had been at this gig for some time.  And for that, I’m so grateful.  I do not take for granted the kindness of my clients and the graciousness with which they’ve accepted this transition.  There are certainly differences, but we’re keeping this as professional and cozy as possible!

So far, so good!  Full speed ahead!
