Green.

I don’t believe that I’ve ever expressed on Square Piece exactly how I feel about St. Patrick’s Day.

I love it.

I love that in a country where mostly nobody can agree on ANYTHING, we can put our differences aside and wear green together.

Democrat or Republican?

I dunno, but let’s wear green.

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

I dunno, but let’s wear green.

Does the average citizen really need an assault rifle?

I dunno, but let’s wear green.

Redskins or Cowboys?

Who cares?!  We’re just gonna wear green anyway!

Shaken or stirred?

GREEN!

Black coffee or with cream and sugar?

Where’s that green mug?

Public school or home school?

Green school.

Roy-G-Biv.

Ggg-G-Ggg.

Vaccinate or no?

Where are the green band-aids?

Pepsi or Coke?

Does that come green on St. Patty’s?

Toyota or Chevrolet?

I dunno, but let’s get some green accessories.

Text or call?

Green, green, green.

Audrey Hepburn or Marilyn Monroe?

They both look great in green.

Star Wars or Star Trek?

Can’t we all just wear a little green?

Thin crust or stuffed crust?

Pan.  But green is a must.

Oh…

Wait…

Did I mention that my favorite color is green?

Well, it is.

I had a teacher in high school that would always wear ORANGE! She was Irish. So I asked her why is she not wearing green. Her response was something about green is traditional Irish; orange is protest and counter culture usually meant to represent Protestant (versus Catholics who wore green during the 1798 Rebellion that included some atrocities against Anglican [C of E] persons). Then stated that St’ Patrick actually wore blue… What a buzz kill…. I answered well Green is my favorite color and sat down. haha

…which is why some people still manage to argue over the “wear green” idea. And I’m married to him…so I dressed my baby in orange and wore blue lol.

    • Ireland. I’ve been there. Thanks to the constant mist, the ground is the softest, greenest, sweetest-smelling earth you’ve ever experienced. That’s why I wear green. That, and it makes my eyes look fabulous! *wink*

    HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY

Reading wonderful book right now to fit right in to the season. Highly recommend ‘This Charming Man’ by Marian Keyes. Laughter and tears mix beautifully. Takes place in Dublin

Fine Irish gentleman here. Red tinge to the hair and the tip o’ the nose

    • Oh, that tip of the nose was because this wee one was being awfully fussy! I happened to catch a sweet moment, but, trust me, it was a combination of stubbornness and tiredness that caused that little nose to be so red!

I wore green but didn’t think about the day. But my green-eyed son was born today, so I love March 17. And Bennett is adorable in that outfit.
