Guys and gals, I need some thankful time like I need a snuggly blanket on a crisp morning, like I need a splash of water in the face when I’m a little run down, like I need… well… breakfast.
I’m thankful for whole milk.
And I’m thankful for the way that dogs love to have their bellies rubbed. When you stop and think about it, isn’t that strange and adorable?
I’m thankful for redheads.
And I’m thankful for green lights.
I’m thankful for orderliness.
And I’m thankful for soft fabrics.
I’m thankful that Rachael Ray has helped me gain understanding of how to make quick sauces and gravies.
And I’m thankful for an accompanying glass of red wine.
I’m thankful for the discovery of old notes and jotted dreams.
And I’m thankful for our wildly incredible brains, an unknowable mystery that largely remains forgotten in my day to day tasks. Seriously though, how on earth does it store so much?! How on earth can it make me feel like I’m seeing something even when my eyes are closed? Where does it put that picture, that video? Remarkable, glorious God…
I’m thankful for fireplaces.
And I’m thankful for s’mores.
I’m thankful for trash cans and garbage dumps.
And I’m thankful for these five ducks that keep roaming our neighborhood, four identical and one special friend.
I’m thankful for the friendly trash talk that comes from misplaced confidence in various NFL teams.
And I’m thankful that a man, Bruno Mars, is playing this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. Heck, I don’t even care for the guy, but I’m tired of pop women prancing around in skimpy outfits. Welcome, Bruno.
I’m thankful for the ability to capture a photo anytime, anywhere.
And I’m thankful that Brian puts up with all my square piece neediness.
And that Jesus loves me, too.
