If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. The advice dispensed by my hair clientele is one of the nicest perks of my job! Last week, one client in particular mentioned the Joshua’s Hands Fall Festival.
As she described it to me, it seemed like it’d be a great fit for me and Bennett. Brian was busy (ya know, the day before the new church building made its debut), so the babe and I were solo.
So what compelled me to drive to Waterford, Virginia? Well, while Bennett is definitely too small to participate in most of these activities, I was quite impressed with the variety of options laid out on this farm property! They had everything from a spelling bee (adorable!) to a petting farm to hay rides to DIY demonstrations (soap-making!) to crafts to carnival style games to live music to face painting… Heck, we even both had an eye exam! I could go on and on! But, oh, did I mention that the whole thing was FREE?!
Here’s their site if you’d like to keep an eye out for next year’s festival. In the meantime, here are some shots of Bennett’s adventures.
Chickens? Rabbits? What’s not to love?
My little boy socializing with the big guys. Just plopped himself right down.
Yeah, yeah, the goats were exciting. He was equally interested in eating the leaves on the ground.
Biggest wheel he’s ever seen in his life. Tractor = thumbs up.
(PS: This adorable outfit was discovered at Three Lil Monkeys!)
AWESOME!!!!!
Looks like fun! Btw, soap making is fun, and relatively easy! I’m thinking of letting the kids help me with some as gifts this year!
A great gift idea and good, family quality time.
Waterford has a festival for adults too in October. I’ve never been but one of my best friends says it’s SENSATIONAL!
I was advised of that one, too! Maybe when Brian can join me…
Sounds like fun. These photos are adorable. 🙂
