Ma.

This afternoon, Brian and I got to gather with our family to celebrate Pa’s 80th birthday.

Four main highlights of the event:

  1. I was able to use the voice record feature on my phone to capture a 20 minute session of “Story Time with Pa.”  How do you achieve such a feat?  Easy.  Just ask, “So, Pa, did you graduate high school?”  He’ll take it from there.  In about 30 minutes I got caught up from his 9th grade year to the present.
  2. Meatloaf.
  3. Belly pats.
  4. And, oh yeah, capturing Ma making a tough face while pretending to show off a tattoo with my brother, Joey.  Unfortunately, she fell and that’s actually a gigantic, ugly bruise.  But at least she’s got good humor about it!

You’ve met Pa, now meet Ma:

It was wonderful seeing you all again today…I enjoyed doing a few belly pats, and very glad you enjoyed the meatloaf. Love ya.

Poor grandma. One heck of a bruise, I’d say! Yet she’s adorable!

    Joey is too.

Joeys tattoo is one of my favorites! Is Ma ok? That is a terrible bruise. She is so awesome!!!

Poor Ma! But I must say I do think it’s awesome that she’s so positive and seems to have an easy time turning the bad into good. She seems so strong mentally and emotionally.
