Ma’s note.

If there’s something that I love about my grandma, Ma is incredibly punctual in sending cards through the mail.  Be it Christmas, a birthday, an anniversary, Ma’s card is sure to arrive exactly on time.

Ya never know what you might find in there either.

While I appreciated the $10 Burger King gift card that she sent in my latest birthday card, her handwritten note is what delighted me even more:

I do loooooooove me some sweet potato fries!  Funnily enough, Ma had no idea.  A lucky guess.  Fascinating!  I suppose there are worse fast food indulgences.  What’s your fast food weakness?

(And, Manny, you better pick SOMETHING and not just poo-poo all fast food!)

Additionally, I love that she underlined Brian’s name.  Don’t know why, just do.

Kentucky Fried Cole Slaw. Cannot duplicate and have tried. Great side dish to so many things. Had last Sunday with Mexican dinner I cooked and since I’ll be alone this weekend, may repeat!

I do love cards from Ma. She’s so thoughtful. <3 Well, Sue, back in the day I used to stop at BK for a whopper, Mc'D's for a super size fry. I would sometimes stop at Wendy's for chix nuggets or a caesar salad too. Mind you, this was all at the same time. No wonder I was heavier back then. 😛 No mas!

    pho

i don’t know if you have it much in other parts of the country, but here in the PNW, it’s considered a fast food

around here, it is considered a fast food–there are chains of noodle shops (pho hoa, etc) that are actually global (well, Asia and the US 🙂 )–though, like burgers and chicken, there are more upscale shops as well. i think that we see more of it here because we have such a large population from Southeast Asia where it’s pretty much the national food.

it’s definitely my favorite fast food as well as one of my favorite comfort foods–if i’m tired and run down, i go to a local noodle shop for a bowl of pho and i’m ready to go again
