Mendel’s peas.

Back over Thanksgiving (Remember that holiday that passed so long ago?), my mom was high on life as she was holding and loving her grandson.  Bennett being only a month old at the time, we were all still convinced that he was a spitten image of Brian.  Then Bennett began to cry, face contorting and skin turning red, and she declared, “Oh, now I can see you in him!”

Gee.  Thanks.  You see me when he’s fussing.  What’s that supposed to mean?

But now?  Momma has unearthed some Baby Square Piece pics and – my, oh my! – the resemblance is becoming clearer!  Ever since we studied Mendel and his pea plants in science class, I’ve been fascinated with genetics.  Check this out:

And this one, too:

I’d say that face kinda looks like this face:

Or this one:

What do you think?  Maybe the eyes?  It’s so much easier for me to tell in person.

He is without a doubt YOUR child, but I bet we see a lot more of Brian’s features as he grows. 🙂

I agree with Momma. Everyone said that Grant was mine through and through–looks and all. Now he is 20 and reminds me so much of his dad….his walk, his voice, his build (which was pretty obvious from the beginning), his hair (glad my kids got their dads thick hair). My dad always said he looks like himself and that is beautiful!

I think that he is a beautiful blend of the both of you. 🙂
