Mondays with Momma: Christmas

Today’s blog is going to be about what Christmas means to me.

Christmas, for me, is this …..

 Mary's visitor

Mary: “May it be done to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38)

 John chapter one

The Word became flesh
and took up residence among us.
We observed His glory,
the glory as the One and Only Son
from the Father,
full of grace and truth.
~John 1:14~

God’s love was revealed among us in this way:
God sent His One and Only Son into the world
so that we might live through Him.
~1 John 4:9~

Miryam treasured all these things and kept mulling them over in her heart.
~Luke 2:19~

But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look,
I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people:
Today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of David.
~Luke 2:10-11~

Simeon and babe

“Now, Adonai, according to your word,
your servant is at peace as you let him go;
for I have seen with my own eyes your yeshu‘ah,
which you prepared in the presence of all peoples —
a light that will bring revelation to the Gentiles
and glory to your people Isra’el.”
~Luke 2:29-32~

wise visitors

Entering the house, they saw the child with Mary His mother,
and falling to their knees, they worshiped Him.
Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts:
gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
~Matthew 2:11~

*************

This year I did not send out Christmas cards. Just did not have the heart for it.

So, I want to take the time now to wish all of you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS,

from our hearts, to yours …

may you enjoy all of the richest blessings of this holy day.

Every morning I read through several devotionals until a verse “pops out” that I feel led to share on Facebook. Once I find a verse then I do a search for an image to go with that verse. I typed in John 1:14 and found that painting while scrolling through the images. The painting was linked to a blog devotional with a tag for Barbara Barnes (untitled).

Love, joy and peace to you, too.
