Monkey Change.

So lately I’ve embraced a change in my life.

Three Lil’ Monkeys.

A while back, I consigned at this boutique and I was a nervous wreck.  The guidelines were strict, the appointment was scheduled and I fretted that my items weren’t “good enough” for this business.  Only certain brands were accepted, brands with which I was just getting familiar, and a minimum of twenty items per consignment appointment was required.

The original owner with whom I had this transaction, however, had to tend to a family emergency and ended up moving, selling the business to her employee, Elena.

Elena has since loosened the restrictions to make Three Lil’ Monkeys more accessible to any and everyone.  All sorts of brands are available now.  Sure, there’s the usual Carters clothing that you can find just about anywhere, but I found an infant piece by Anne Geddes just this past Monday!  (I didn’t even know that existed!)  Not only that, but 75% markdowns had just been taken, so I parked myself on the floor next to a few bins and rummaged around.

While I’ll admit that I liked the spacious aisles and the unusual selection of the former, boutique-like consignment that was Three Lil’ Monkeys, it seems that now even better deals are available under this new ownership.  I must’ve gotten five shirts that cost between $1.00 – $2.00 apiece this Labor Day weekend.  Below Bennett is wearing a shirt that was only $1.25.  It looks and feels like it was never worn and buttons up behind the neck.  Adorable.

While I like to pretend that I’m fancy at times, I’ll always have the heart of a treasure-hunting maniac.  There’s no sense in spending an arm and a leg to cover an arm and a leg.  Te he he…

Plus they still have great a Melissa and Doug selection.  Long live imagination!

PS: Forgive me for seeming shallow and blogging about shopping two days in a row.  It was just nice to get out and look at lovely things this weekend.  I don’t do that as much as I used to!  Hmmm… Wonder why…?

Shallow? From two blogs? Please. Give us more credit lest we be thought of as shallow.

  6. Suzy, I appreciate the post! And Bennett looks adorable! And to tell you the truth, we hate the small isles! We are actually looking into bigger spaces in the area so we can have roomy isles and more stuff, and more deals! We bought the name, but the space is terrible! We’ll let you know when we find a better space that is big enough! 🙂

He is adorable. Love him! Sounds like a great place to shop for Benny Boo. I don’t know any woman out there that doesn’t like a bargain. If she’s rich and see’s a 1,000 dollar purse marked down to 825.oo, she can’t help herself. We’re frugal by nature. That’s what we do. OoOoOo “look honey, this is 25% off”. Yeah, I bet every guy currently with a gal would say that sounds pretty familiar.
