My blessed, boring Valentine’s.

My mother-in-law sent us the nicest package for Valentine’s Day.  I’d show you a picture of the no-bake cookies and the rice krispie treats, but they were demolished long before the thought of photographing them ever entered my mind.

Oh well.

What does Valentine’s Day look like in the Spears household?  Well, it looks like Brian coming out of the bathroom around 9:30 in the morning and saying, “Oh, hey!  I forgot to wish you Happy Valentine’s Day.  Happy Valentine’s Day.”  And then I reply, “Are you done with these?” as I clear scraps of paper off of the kitchen counter.  So romantic.  It’s no wonder Bennett is here, what with all the heat and romantic tension between us.  😉

Anywho…

As I sit here typing this morning, I have a content smile spread across my face.  My baby is napping, I successfully made the most delicious cream cheese over the night, my belly is full, my mason jars are sterilized and drying, my tea is brewed, my meatloaf is almost done cooking (But who knows if it tastes good?), my beans are soaking and I’ve got a knitting project on the brain all while my fluffy robe warms my body and my bare feet rest on the hardwood floor.

Now, that’s a lot of randomness to unload (I plan on explaining more of my kitchen experiments later); but, yes, it’s safe to say that when they coined the expression “Suzy Homemaker,” they might have had me in mind.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

PS – Thanks for the blanket, Donna!

Are you sorry you didn’t get the unattractive child you wished for ? I remember!
Bennett is so far removed from your ideal 🙂 Add photography to your homemaker skills or did you visit a pro for this one?

    • He he he… Nope. Not sorry. And YES! I did take the picture. I put a pillow on either side of his seat, set the blanket on top and waited – with bright pink lipstick on – for him to wake from his nap. Once awake and with a contented full belly, I plopped Bennett in his seat and began snapping pics.

Suzy Homemaker! I haven’t thought of that before. This is my favorite current picture of my squishy. <3 Oh and I am indeed curious about the cream cheese…..
