We’ve got Dan for the night. I told him he had to earn his breakfast this morning… in the form of an interview. 😉
Me: If you were interviewing yourself, what would you ask yourself?
Dan: I don’t think I’d ask myself an interview question. I’d always like to just have a conversation about it all instead. What question would you like to ask yourself? Where would you like to travel if you could only travel one place?
Me: And what is the answer to that question?
Dan: There are some answers, but mostly questions and ideas. I’d like to travel again to Japan.
Me: What makes you feel at home?
Dan: These days people, my friends and family and spending time with them. I’ve had homes and have been homeless at times, and those places have been good to be in, but the people in my life are what feel like home the most. That and sleeping in.
Me: If you weren’t musical in any capacity and life on the road was out of the question, what would you see yourself doing instead?
Dan: I’ve thought about trying to do a few things…..I’m really glad I get to play music, but I’ve thought about being a physical therapist or perhaps designing and making furniture or designing houses.
Me: Tell me about a moment when you felt encouraged. What encourages you and gives you hope for tomorrow?
Dan: I feel encouraged when I see my friends happy and fulfilled in life. It makes me feel like there is hope for us all, and myself to be happy. There are all kinds of things to see encouragement in…..it just depends on when I stop and decide to find the joy in the things that are in front of me…..even struggle.
Me: If you jogged three miles every morning, what music do you think you’d be listening to while jogging?
Dan: I don’t jog three miles every morning. That sounds like something I’d like to do though. I’ve been wanting to listen to Nick Drake lately, maybe some of that, or I’d probably spend a whole night putting together all the greatest movie montage songs, but then go back to listening to something like mogwai or tv on the radio.
Me: How would you feel if there was no such thing as fire?
Dan: That would be sad, but there would probably be a replacement for it somewhere. I may not like the substitute for it though. The word fire would probably be a real common name for people though, as common as Jason or Sarah.
Me: One of your favorite Bible verses?
Dan: I really like Ecclesiastes, all of it. I like chapter 3 though. I like reading the book of Job, and Acts…….and other Bible parts too.
Me: Is there anything I can get you?
Dan: No, thank you. I have all that I need.
🙂
Where’s the like button on this thing? 😛
Need to listen to his music more! I like your interviews.
