Every Wednesday and Thursday, I enjoy a noon to 8PM shift at work. There’s nothing better than having a lot of time in the morning to run errands and get ready. Except yesterday morning, I just enjoyed resting and being lazy in the most ideal way ever.
I had been up since 6:30AM, but around 9:45AM, Brian let me lay my head on his chest and snuggle in for a nap. Not just any nap. No, I was collapsed across the bed nowhere near where my head and feet usually go. The sun was beaming through the window, warming my skin.
Not even a cat could have enjoyed that spot in the sun more than I did.
For about 45 minutes I was able to peacefully nap in a silent house. The dogs were napping, too, as I had already walked them. (It only takes about 12 minutes to completely exhaust the hounds.)
Once awake again, Brian and I chatted back and forth a little.
Brian, “How do you feel?”
Me, “I’d feel better if I knew you were making me a sandwich.”
Brian laughed, “How would you like your sandwich?”
Me, “Toasted. Tomatoes and cheese. Mustard and mayo. Pepper on the mayo and salt on the tomato. Thinly sliced tomato.”
Brian, “Is there anything else you’d like, princess?”
Me, “Yeah. Water… In my green cup with the straw… and my laptop.”
He’s really spoiling the square piece in me. 🙂 I just love him.
Thanks for sharing a glimpse of a golden morning! And a golden husband. =)
What a great morning…sounds all but perfect…or as close to perfect as we can achieve on this earth
I like the way Holly said it.

Oh my goooooodness. How woooooonderful! Ahhhhhh…..and this is how you SHOULD be treated. Praise God for that husband of yours. And windows that let the sun in. And a quiet house. And the sunshine and MTO sandwhiches. And having the ability to relax.
Wonderful! Bliss!
PRINCESS!!!! That’s what a few of my friends call me. Pretty Princess. Mainly b/c I have PPS. Pretty Princess Syndrome. Spoiled? Perhaps. Usually gets my way? Mostly. 🙂
