Considering the fact that I kinda dumped a heavier post on you guys yesterday, I’d like to ponder the little things in life that have been making me smile lately. I guess you could say this sort of feels like The Thankful Game, except it’s more just The Things That Make Me Happy-Sigh.
- The French press that we got to replace our broken coffee pot. Best. Idea. Ever. Sooooo yummy in the morning.
- That my minivan doors open at the push of a button. When I’ve got three bags hanging off of one arm while carrying Bennett in his car seat in the other arm, it’s nice to walk up to an already opened door.
- And the heated seats.
- The way Esther gets giddy over her homemade gravy.
- That my friend, Sherri, offered to pick me up when we carpooled to a wine tasting last night.
- That Bree couldn’t find the scissors, so she had to leave ridiculously long straws in our wine slushies.
- That the winery showcased Bree’s cakeballs and did wine pairings with them!
- That I finally figured out that the leftover liquid from churning cream into butter is actually buttermilk. (Duh.) It makes perfect French toast.
- The way Bennett tries to suck his thumb and nurse at the same time.
- When he discovers anything new…
- …and gets to spend time with the original Mr. Bennett.
- When Brian texts me “Daddy Day Care” pics.
- Not having had to curl my lashes in weeks.
- Learning what it means to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth, loving Him with my heart and soul and not just with my mind and strength.
- That my coworker, Erin, is due to have her first baby so soon! She looks adorable.
- Knitting in peace and quiet. It doesn’t happen often, but I love it when it does.
I love that you can enjoy all of these things.
🙂
A slice of solitude is so healing
I love the little things that make life worth being here. It doesn’t take much to make me happy. 🙂
