Oh. Oh, hello there.
What a blessing it is to wake up on a Thursday morning! I love having a whole day of possibilities ahead of me. After reading my Bible and praying this morning (cup of coffee in hand), I enjoyed a few minutes to prep my face and wardrobe before Bennett awoke. It’s little things like these that I was hoping to incorporate back into my life when I gave up the full time blogging. I’m happy to report that this leaf IS turning over anew.
Last week, a huge Beauti Control order arrived in the mail for me. New year, new priorities. I had fallen off my skin care wagon and was determined not only to get back on, but to target some new issues – namely: tired eyes. Now that I’ve put on my grown up pants, I’m back to my morning/evening cleanse-tone-moisturize regimen (with a periodic exfoliation or microderm abrasion). At night, I’ve been using my retinol eye capsules and have already noticed a WONDERFUL difference. (Though – given the strength this product, I might have to tone it down to every other night or else the skin around my eyes will feel too sensitive from all that potent Vitamin A.) In the morning I’ve been applying my skin brightening serum under my moisturizer and like that my skin is looking less dull.
Not sure why I ever got off track in the first place. Oh yeah. I had a baby.
Again, now that I’m not staying up late working on my posts, my new evening routine has gotten well underway. Dishes get loaded into the dishwasher and washed, counters get wiped, coffee gets prepped, etc. Our bed sheets are presently in the washer while some pizza dough is rising in the bread machine. Bennett and I went out for sushi at Otani this afternoon. (We’re both partial to the Vegas roll.) I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, they have a great and inexpensive lunch buffet. Nom nom nom…
(The only thing missing here is chopsticks.)
Right next door, Three Lil Monkeys is having their 40% seasonal sale until Saturday. Last week I purchased some new shoes that fit my boy’s growing feet. Today I was able to get a toddler bed and two Stephen Joseph future baby shower gifts using just my consignment credit. Bennett’s not ready for that bed yet, but I want to have it on hand for when he is. I know what Pa would say if he knew I got a toddler bed. He’d say, “Bennett’s gettin’ out of the way…” implying that we need to clear the crib for Baby #2. But there is no Baby #2. (Seriously. I took a test last week just to be sure because the onset of a migraine is completely out of character for my body. Wasn’t sure what could have prompted that.) But then again, Superbowl Sunday is right around the corner and anything could happen…
And speaking of Superbowl Sunday, this evening I hope to finish some prep work for my World Peace Salad. That always makes for a nice snack. Additionally, being that we’ve recently purchased half a cow and have ground beef comin’ out the wazoo, I’ll be making “grown up” sloppy Joes. My hope is to freshly bake some pita rolls to slit and stuff, making for a slightly less sloppy Joe. Perhaps a Tidy Joe… Or just… a Joe.
If you never got a Christmas card from me, don’t take it too personally. Between the original faulty cards (that named us Ken, Mary and Elizabeth Williamson) and the fact that I got sick after the holidays, it got lost in the shuffle. Take this as a token of my love and exuberance:
One more snapshot of our life and I’ll leave ya alone…
My son gets me. I learned that yesterday. He really gets me:
…just as long as he learns to shop the clearance racks.
Precious!
You should make Goulash with the ground beef! This is a great recipe…yummy, easy, and makes a ton.

Bennett is adorable!
I’ll look into it! Thanks!
Adore the pictures … such a cutie pie.
I want one of those Christmas cards! it will go on my fridge and will make me laugh when I need it! 🙂
Love the magazine reader. He is immersed, for sure!!!!!
Now to capture him reading that while doing his business on the potty. Darian was partial to Adam’s American Iron motorcyle magazine.
Love it!!! See you in 5hrs… Hooray Hair Apt :0)
Little Suzie all the way in the Christmas photo. I love his expression. CLEARLY not too pleased. I can just hear what was going on his mind. LOL!
LOL, he is such a cutie patootie. Your tidy Joe’s were delicious, Sue. In fact, now that I’m thinking about it, I don’t think that I have ever not liked your cooking. You’re a beast in the kitchen. I tell my guests that all the time. BEAST. I’m proud of you. It’s no easy task. 🙂
Ps, I love the Christmas card. lol
