The Thankful Game, Part 12.

In honor of my 190th post, I’d like to take a minute to be thankful.

(If you’re new to The Thankful Game, you might want to catch up here.)

I’m thankful that the darker the days get, the brighter the Christmas lights look.

And I’m thankful that the days will soon be staying lighter longer.

I’m thankful that Brian and I both like the house to be at the same temperature.

I’m thankful for the way that my basset hound, Esther, gets wound up and wild-eyed when she comes in from the rain.

I’m thankful that I got to see a dear, high school friend tonight.

And I’m thankful that she is going to be a guest author on Square Piece in the future!

I’m thankful that I got to see my husband for a minute before he ran out the door to go to work.

And I’m thankful for all the men and women who work for UPS, USPS and FedEx during this hectic time of year.

I’m thankful for the extravagant generosity that my clients show me when they think of me for Christmas.  (Seriously, it’s just amazing.)

I’m thankful that my family is coming to my house for Christmas.

And I’m thankful that they don’t  stress me out whatsoever as they, too, are so grateful for just about anything.

I’m thankful that we’ll get to sing O Holy Night as a congregation at church on Sunday morning.

And I’m thankful for the wonderful acoustics in our tiny church building.

I’m thankful that Brian did the rest of the grocery shopping today.

And I’m thankful that he got everything on the list (with few diversions).

I’m thankful that I figured out the most awesome new hairstyle EVER by just analyzing a picture (pic soon).

And I’m thankful that I got to teach that hairstyle to my boss and will soon be teaching my coworkers as well.

I’m thankful that I’m not presently sick.

And I’m thankful for the sound of rain hitting my deck outside.

I’m thankful that I have a deck.

…and that I drove home safely in the dark and rain tonight.

I’m thankful that I finally found my nail polish remover.

And I’m thankful that I have Christmas Eve off (in addition to my usual Sunday/Monday weekend).

I’m thankful that the wise men “rejoiced exceedingly with great joy” when they spotted the star of Bethlehem.  Something about that makes me so happy.

And I’m thankful for this ADORABLE children’s rendition of the Christmas story.

Enjoy!

(For what are you thankful?)
