When Italian instincts fog my sensibilities, part 2.

Oh my goodness.  I’m trying to compose a decent blog post and Brian has Photoside Café on YouTube blaring from the kitchen.  This video, actually.  Brian wants me to watch him play air violin as he exclaims, “Man these motherf&*%ers are good!”

Game over.

So instead, why don’t I elaborate on my first encounters with the band and why I’m so excited to see my friends this Sunday.

Three summers ago was my and Brian’s first trip to Cornerstone Music Festival as a couple.  I had done my scheduling homework.  So after a 14 hour drive to Illinois and some considerable time setting up camp, I wandered over to a tent to see Photoside Café for the first time.

My jaw was dropped during the entire performance.

I was transfixed by the violinist (and his lip ring).

You know when you’re watching a suspenseful movie and the soundtrack has you on the edge of your seat?  Well, that’s how I feel when I watch these guys perform.  I’m in utter suspense.

After their show I commented to the violinist, “My husband and I just drove 14 hours to get here.  If we turned around and went home right now, it would have totally been worth it.”

Then I proceeded to stalk them for the rest of the festival, constantly jabbing Brian in the side when I saw one of the guys walking around.  I can’t help it.  I’m attracted to talent.  They played a few more shows that week and I cleared my agenda for them.

Once we were home I continued stalking Photoside Café online and I saw that they’d be touring near the area.  Brian and I host bands through an organization called RYFO.  Being that we’re an approved home (who prefer to give our guests rest, not requests for pics and autographs), I contacted Photoside Café and explained that we’d be happy to put them up for a night, feeding them and giving them haircuts.

Cause, you see, I’m a manipulative and savvy stalker with skillllllls.

Now, I’m not condoning stalking.  But this was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.  So beautiful, in fact, that would you believe the bassist is the man who built my web page?  (Thanks, Craig!)

Come on out to our backyard on Sunday!  You and all your friends are invited!  The more the merrier!

The violinist is definitely a hottie and has mad skills! All the guys are great. Really enjoyed watching the bass player too. Being that I play the guitar myself, I appreciate the talent.
